The Annual Vietnam Business Forum 2016 was organized on December 5, 2016 at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel under the theme of "Strengthening the Private Sector'' with the focus on improving domestic and FDI linkages for all businesses and sectors.
It was a great honor to welcome Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and representatives from various Ministries and sectors to attend this important event. In the context of the new government, the Forum gained special attention of local and foreign business community, international organisations, and the press. Its success can be seen at huge number of nearly 650 participants and coverages on numerous media channels. The presence and direction of the Prime Minister and concrete responses from Ministries' leaders to businesses' recommendations at the Forum have strengthened the Government's commitment in supporting the development of business community. The Midterm Vietnam Business Forum 2015 was organized on June 6, 2015 at Lotte Hanoi Hotel under the theme of "Enhancing Enterprise Competitiveness for Global Integration."
The success of the Forum was highlighted by the attendance and address of Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung together with Minister of Planning and Investment Mr. Bui Quang Vinh, Minister/Chairman of the Office of the Government Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Minister of Finance Mr. Dinh Tien Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Vu Huy Hoang, Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Mrs. Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, Minister of Science and Technology Mr. Nguyen Quan and a number of Vice Ministers from related Ministries.
The landmark Forum was co-chaired by H.E. Minister of Planning and Investment Mr. Bui Quang Vinh, Country Director of the World Bank in Vietnam Mdm. Victoria Kwakwa, IFC Regional Manager Mr. Kyle F. Kelhofer and VBF Consortium's Co-Chairmen Mr. Vu Tien Loc and Mrs. Virginia B. Foote.
The Forum was successful with an attendance of nearly 550 participants in total, in which over 20 Ambassadors of Diplomatic Missions and Country Directors of international organizations in Vietnam reprsented. This is the second time the Forum had an honor to welcome the Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung. There were five key topics discussed during the Forum including financial sector and SOEs reforms, administrative procedures reforms, development of private sector and development of Vietnamese workforce in preparing business community to take full advantage of new trade agreements once Vietnam officially becomes a member.Read more...

Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) has offered members an exclusive opportunity to enjoy unparalleled access and engage in a high-level Dialogue between foreign businesses and key decision-making Central Government and Provincial Authorities in the south of Vietnam on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Hotel Nikko Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City.
This landmark Dialogue was co-chaired by H.E. Minister of Planning and Investment Mr. Bui Quang VINH, Ho Chi Minh City Vice Chairman Mr. Le Manh HA and VBF Consortium Representatives. The Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) met on June 3, 2013 in Hanoi and the presence of Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Vu Van Ninh again demonstrated the Government's strong commitment to embrace the dialogue initiative with the business community. Together they are committed to a more favorable investment environment in Vietnam through promoting immediate ACTIONs to accelerate the economic reform agenda.
The Midterm VBF 2013's broad-spectrum appeal and importance was evidenced by the participation of nearly 500 representatives from governmental agencies, donor community, local and foreign business community and media. In particular, more than 10 vice ministers and high-ranking officials from Government ministries attended and addressed pressing issues in various sectors raised by heads of VBF Working Groups. During the Forum, the business community received positive feedback from Government representatives on a number of pressing issues, such as the confirmation to maintain visa exemption for citizens of the seven countries (including Japan, Korea and Russia) visiting Vietnam for periods of up to 15 days; and the establishment of a national AMC to address the NPL problem, just to name a few.
